1976 BMW 2002 S50
Not many pictures when this swap was done but we did do it so I want to post what we have.
This car was driven to us with a nice running M10 but the owner wanted a bit more power and a lot less hassle with a carb. He had an S50 laying around so why not remove the passenger seat toss it in the car and drive from South Dakota to Michigan in late winter.
We were tasked to do only the engine swap as the car already had a lot of very nice things going on with it.
When the owner flew in to drive the car back we had a couple of little issues going on but he was well versed in automotive projects so we all spent the time over the weekend and finished it up so he could drive it back (packed with an m10 and a bunch of other parts).
There was one issue we were never able to overcome and that was a failing clutch master cylinder. We were not able to find one locally so the owner drove home with a failing one. A few pumps and he could get pressure. Once he got home he swapped in a new one and all was well.
