The owner of this car (Brando) worked at Blunttech for a little while with Steef P. There was a short period (while we were building this car) that he would only go by MAD DAWG. So we needed to add some personal flair to the car.
Below you will see how we go about making a set of custom engine mounts.
Step1) Get the engine where we need it. This is figured out after a lot of measuring and looking and head scratching.
Step2) Make plates to bolt to the engine and chassis (these were made before we had a CNC plasma)
Step3) Bolt plates to engine and chassis and connect the dots with paper ( I like file folder thickness)
Step4) Convert template to steel (we now have these in CAD and CNC plasma cut them)
Step5) Tack weld the metal upright to the plates in the car
Step6) Weld fully and jig
As close to firewall as possible
Test fitting drivers side upright
Passenger mount tacked in place
Drivers side jigged (these were dirty)
Passenger side welded and jigged
Engine supporting it's own weight
