Radiator and such

Build019 1971 BMW 2002 S52 62

Seeing as we had to cut the engine shelf area out and the engine was living in the same space the radiator wanted to be we had to get creative. If you have read many of the other blogs you will see that we like to use parts from other OEMs.

In the case of this car we needed a narrow radiator but also had a lot of width. One of my buddies works at a local auto parts store and see's a lot of parts travel through. I asked him if he knew of any such radiator, low and behold a radiator from a Jeep Grand Cherokee fit the bill almost perfectly.

The only issue was the in/out were in the wrong locations. After finding that the radiator would fit I found an aluminum version and had the in/out moved. (This was before I could weld aluminum)

Watch below as we make it fit... or go to the bottom and just look at the pictures in the gallery (full size images).
