Oil pan time
I always give credit where credit is due. This is not my idea for the oil pan. Others have done the same thing all over the world and call it the FRANKENPAN..... oooo scary.
The M20 shares the same shape and many of the same mounting holes as any 24v engine other than the front 5". So we cut down an iX pan and E36 pan and mated them up together. This was all done on a junk M50.
Then we made a custom oil pickup to be able to mount on the S54. Doing this does require running an M50 oil pump on the S54. Also requiring a dipstick and a few other fittings as well.
There are many more pictures of this process down in the gallery. We now make many of these pans if anyone is in need!
Cutting the iX pan
Now time for an e36 pan to be cut
Bolted together on an m50...not bad
Welded up (this was before I tigged aluminum)
