Fitting Ford Throttle Body
With any build if I am upgrading something I try to pick out of the bins of all the OEMs. Not just the company that manufactured the car but all of them. The idea is that the part was engineered for production so it will be higher quality. In the case of this build I wanted to use a throttle body with a built in Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) and variable TPS. Ford has nice 2 wire IACV that work well with microsquirt so that is how we ended up with a throttle body from a 2.3L ford. Oh yeah with this work we did it helped to know some cad and have a cnc plasma table in house... Lots more pictures in the gallery of the welds on this!
The two faces that need to connect.
Test fit the throttle body.
Weld the two flanges together.
Whew, juuuust fits.
